Researchers Provide Proof Weight Loss Cream Works
Four Louisiana State researchers presented results from a study where they put to test the theory of fat reduction in the waist area using applications of a topical cream. They stated that previous studies had shown results of topical fat reduction in women from the thigh area using aminophyline cream however it was yet to be demonstrated that local fat reduction in other areas of the body or in men could be achieved with an aminophyline topical cream as well.
Research Summary:
- 50 men and women
- Ages 21-65
- BMI greater than kg/m2
- Waist hip ratio greater or equal to average
- 1:1 ratio of subjects having a twice a day topical weight loss cream applied (0.5%) aminophyline) or no treatment to the waist
- All subjects on 1200 kcal balanced diet
- All subjects participated in a walking program
- Monthly - theophyline level drawn
- Waist, waste to hip ratio, and BMI remeasured after 12 weeks
Results from the study provided a clear difference in the outcome of the subjects using fat reduction cream to those using nothing. With no adverse side effects the group using the topical cream had a waist reduction of 11 +/- 1.0 cm (results favorable for both women and men, but a greater waist girth reduction in women); the no cream users measured in at less than half the average of the cream users at 5.0 +/- .6 cm lose.
